Changing the world
one mind at a time
It's morning in Columbus

Ok, I went to bed early, and now I'm awake early. Which means taking a nap at some point to get myself on work hours for the weekend.

LARP tonight will be in Grandview, centered mainly at Staupf's. YAY! Coffee and stupidity!

Speaking of stupidity, mom gave me some money for my upcoming birthday. So, I used some of it to buy Demon: the Fallen, the new game from White Wolf. It's amusing so far, but if I ever run a game, I'm gonna need a cheat sheet for house and faction. Keeping track of which demon is which will be interesting.

But Demon is a nice break from Heinlein's facist Starship Troopers. Hell, he's encouraging throwing the bill of rights out the window.

I'm going back to bed here soon.

Actually, you're kinda missing Heinlein's point, there... he was demonstrating what kind of shit can happen if we do, not encouraging it...

Interesting. The way I was reading it, he was saying that humans are not moral animals, therefore "cruel and unusual punishment" must be used to eliminate bad behavior...the way one trains a puppy.

Yeah, I can see where you might get that... tho that's more a comment on military thought, lol. Can you tell I'm into Heinlein a bit more than might be healthy? lol.... The whole concept of a military state scared the hell out of him, which is no great surprise - scares the hell out of anyone intelligent....

Oooo, that would be an interesting contrast... I love The Forever War, it was the first Haldeman (sp?) I ever read (thank you, old boyfriends - they got me into some great writers)...

Well, considering it's one of my ex's that got me to read them...
