Ok, bed time.

But first a question.

With the December holidays coming up (aka December), I'm trying to come up with good gifts for my niece. She really wants more books, but I can't remember half the crap I read in first grade. I remember Creeps and it's sequel, plus a bunch of Beverly Cleary novels, plus something like Picklesimer Hall or some such. Most of you who ignore read this ournal also are bibliophiles, so help me out here with children's novels. I think it may be a bit early to present her with The Phantom Tollbooth, which is one of my fave books still.

1st Grade is how old? You cannot go wrong with the Lorax, by Dr Suess. From a 4 year old to a forty year old, this book is the best.

So there.

Depends on the kid, really; I read Tollbooth, and Alice in Wonderland (the 2 book set, not one of the cut-down versions) and Bambi, all in first grade... but I was a weird kid, lol...
