Well, currentky using mom's dsl via TV to update this. /beginning to see a real downside to both the wireless keyboard and the uber crappy connection Lord have mercy, I miss my home unit and onncection.
Well, was an unusually quiet Thanksgiving day here, mainly due to a lack of people not decended from mom. Which is good, since I can relax and enjoy watching my blood sugar skyrocket from overeating.
Dug around the attic for a while and found quite a few things of interest. Among other things, more Richard Scarry books of yore for the enjoyment of my nephew, more than a few hoary old copies of books from my childhood (Think Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys mysteries), as well as many of the adult novels I was reading in high school/Junior high. I also found a collection of essays writting in 10th grade that got me A's. (one was a project on who were/are/will be and the other was an opinion paper on gay rights.
Also found was the whole envelope of agape from my Chrysalis event I had managed to bury rather than remember my days as a crispy Xtian. (God, forgive me for having sex with Mike. And help me overcome my attraction to penis.) Thank G-d I'm come a long way since then.
Any rate, I promised mom I'd clean my stuff up in the attic over Xmas mainly because there's some buried treasure I'd love to unearth again, as well as high school interim reports and report cards I'd very much like to burn. Plus a whole bag filled with nothing but prospecti from colleges I considered attending that would also make good bonfire fuel.
Kind of hard to not play with my old toys up there either. Found my entire collection of RoboForce action figures, Starriors, He-/man, Transformers, and a few things I can't recall brand names on sitting in the dust of decades. Wondering if my non-mint condition comics are worth anything now, and kind of doubting it, since I didn't exactly collect popular titles back in the day. (Madballs, anyone?)
I could probably make a small fortune on Ebay with some of it, but in all honesty, I don't think I could find it in my heart to throw away my old toys, since they're one of the few links to my past that don't inspire dread and loathing. (Plus, how could I give up the Starriors base with the launching cobra cannon?)
, I'm not leaving tomorrow until early afternoon, so if you read this and are free, drop by mom's house in the morning.
Anyway, off to bed now. I need to get some sleep before dealing with morning at this place.
