Changing the world
one mind at a time

I'm headed back to bed for an hour or so, but I did want to say I enjoyed Spiderman 3.

Still has the pacing problems, but I prefered it over Spiderman 2 hands down. Although I will admit we were laughing at the idea that the black suit makes you Emo. Bruce cameo FTW. I realize it didn't follow comic continuity, but hell, even Marvel ignores that these days. Harry Osbourne is oddly cute. And, uh, isn't Sandman kind of a puss in the comics?

Thinking if they do a 4th movie, they should get Mysterio as the villian...the special efffects have gotten to a point they could probably pull it off.

I liked the movie but I think it is a failure when compared to the first 2.

It's like they knew that they wouldn't get the cast back together for a 4th and so they tried to tie up all of the Spidey plotlines in 1 big rush. The Story was just too tangled and convoluted.

It would have been a far better movie if they just removed the Sandman from it and had the first half of the movie be Harry and Peter fighting with Harry consistantly winning and Peter trying to hide who he is fighting driving MJ away and towards Harry, then him getting the Venom stuff on him and fortunes reversing with him defeating Harry but driving MJ away completely. With her leaving him being the last straw causing him to tear the black suit off and finally wrapping it up much the way they did.

Just leave the whole Sandman subplot out.

Eh, about the only thing the Sandman plot did was help accentuate the whole theme of vengence vs. forgiveness. Mind you, they pulled that out of their ass...(Actual Uncle Ben killer? WTF?)

But yeah, I could have lived without Sandman. The scene I read the most bitching about tho was the Strut.

Yeah, that Strut scene could have been cut by 2 - 3 minutes easy. They could have established everything they needed to establish in that scene in about 20 - 30 seconds. The rest was just painful to watch.

I kept expecting christopher Walken to show up singing "weapon of choice".
