Writer's Block: Shops Gone By

me
Woolworths shut its doors in the U.K. last week, sending many into a frenzy of nostalgia and bargain shopping. What now-closed store or chain do you wish was still open?

The old Downtown Lazarus in Columbus.

Many were the times I ate with Nana at the Chintz Room, followed by book/toy shopping on the upper levels.

I recall when we hosted 4 Japanese exchange students for a week that we took them to the western themed restaurant in the basement, where we had the good fortune of having a Japanese speaking waitress who helped us better communicate.

And I always loved our trips to Columbus during the holiday season, since Lazarus always had animatrocic displays set up.

I loathed AXIS. Mind you, I only ever went there to support CGMC's Ho Show and to see the musicals I had friends in:)

First time I drove to OSU, my truck got towed because I parked in an unposted no parking zone. I was quite pissed.

As for Insomnia, my only real story about that involved a 3AM outing where some homeless guy tried to teach me to box. When we left to head back to Dayton at 6AM, said guy handed me his really stinky bandanna. That's another store I miss. The sushi place that replaced it really sucked.
