eeyore
Happy birthday, A. A. Milne! Not coincidentally, it's also Winnie the Pooh Day. Which resident of Pooh Corner do you identify with the most?

Eeyore.

Now to shower and go to church.

Hellz, yeah! I've even used him as an example in a job interview. The question was, "How do you deal with it when things go wrong?" My response was, "I expect them to go wrong and prepare. It's like Eeyore from Winnie-the-Pooh: I expect the worst and so I'm never throws when things go wrong. Instead, I am pleased when things go right and prepare myself for any contingency." I got the job, too.

That's actually a really good response. Assuming I ever have to do a job interview again in the future, I'll keep that stored back.

Beats talking about keeping calm and made of iron when dealing with a psychotic ex employee who threw a large pan pizza at me the day he quit.

Scary. But, since I've worked enough retail (managing a Borders), I can relate so it's also kind of funny. Hey, when asked what the worst part about my last job was I got to reply, "Cleaning up human feces left by angry homeless people." You can't beat that. Seriously. There is no way to turn that one around and make me sound like a whiney bitch blaming my employer for something.

I hope the guy with the pizza had bad aim.

He missed me, but he did managed to get all kinds of crap in the flour/cornmeal we used to coat the dough before slapping it out.

Thankfully, the one store I ever worked at with public restrooms never required feces detail. Think the worst I ever had to deal with was a used condom and some really skanky porn mags in the Women's restroom. I still have to wonder what the hell the 3rd shifters were doing when that happened.

I love Eeyore!

But me: Piglet. Optimistic and affectionate, ever youthful (if not downright childish, lol), can be naive and timid, somewhat inclined to get into awkward situations and need help getting out ...

Eeyore suits me, even if I'm not quite as pessimistic. Out of all of the characters, he seems to be the one least worried about the chaos that surrounds him.

That and I don't have quite as much energy as Tigger.
