Needed a way to suck up time, so I streamed Vantage Point.

Reminded me of my own trip to spain back in 1992, minus, of course, the assassination of POTUS.

If I ever have money again, I'd like to go back and wander through El Alhambra and the generalife again. plus paella is freaking awesome. I wish saffron wasn't so bloody expensive in the states so I could make some of my own.

Next up is The History Boys. No idea what it's about, but I remember reading good things about the stage play the movie is adapted from. deabting on getting some Taco Bell, but I have food here at the house. Just want to get out for a while is all.

I think it would be fun to visit certain parts of Spain. Not the huge cities...but the real places where the REAL culture could be found.

We saw Madrid, Sevilla, Grenada, and then hit Malaga and crossed into Tangiers, Morocco.

Plus the side trips took us out to see some very beautiful things. Like Segovia and The Valley of the Fallen; the latter being the basilica where Franco is buried. Kind of nifty, since there are 2 20 foot tall angels guarding the tomb.

The food was beyond compare, although we all laughed because we had chicken for almost every meal. Or eggs.

Somewhere, I still have my spanish playing cards, which feature the same suites as the minor arcana in the tarot. Which made playing euchre across Andalucia all kinds of fun.

I think it was Jr. High when I had to choose a country and do a report on it. I did Spain...even sent off to the Spain Tourism Board for stuff. It was THICK report and of course I got an A. *beaming*

Wanted to visit that country ever since.

Like I said, if I ever have money again, I'd love to go back.

Maybe even go see Barcelona while I'm there:)

It's a very interesting place.

And the design is breathtaking. You can't really see much from the outside other than the huge crucifix. Said crucifix is visible for miles away, providing a photo op on the appraoch.

Eh I could easily ignore the crucifix...since it's not what I'd be going to see.
