Things I've learned in 26 years

me
1) IcyHot is not a good sexual lubricant. Nor is hand lotion. Nor is beer.

2) A parent is someone you want to hug and to kill at the same time.

3) Being an uncle is a good thing.

4) You're only as old as you feel. Which makes me 75.

5) We eventually turn into our parents.

6) It's only a cliche if someone recognizes it as such.

7) Pizza is good as an occasional treat. Eaten every day, it becomes flavourless.

8) A job is something a monkey could do.

9) Your friends turn into your family.

10) Don't hesistate to try something new. You'll always wonder otherwise.

11) Love the one you're with.

12) Never drink 5 shots of straight Tequila in less than 20 minutes, regardless of who your ex is dating.

13) Rationalization is more important than sex.

14) No matter how bad things are, they can always get worse.

15) Never live with someone you want to remain friends with.

>>IcyHot is not a good sexual lubricant<< You had to try it to figure that out?? LOL...

>>Never live with someone you want to remain friends with.<< Wellllll... sometimes it works (hi Bahboo ;))
12th-Aug-2002 11:06 am (UTC) - Re:
Sometimes it works, I will agree, but there are a few occasions where murder crosses everyone's mind.

And It wasn't my fault. Someone put the IcyHot and the Ky side by side.
12th-Aug-2002 11:38 am (UTC)
Oww... never put the KY next to anything else, lol...
12th-Aug-2002 01:35 pm (UTC) - Re:
It could be worse, I had a friend who thought the KY was toothpaste...

15 is profound, though it's only true for me in the relationship capacity. I'm friends with all of my former roommates (except the one that the university assigned to me at the beginning of my first year - I think that was a cosmic joke), and all of my exes, except the one I lived with.
12th-Aug-2002 11:04 am (UTC) - Re:
*ROFL* Universities are famous for that. My second college roommate is one of the only people I can actually say I hate with undying passion.

I swear I don't know what they were thinking when they stuck Teasha and I in a tiny room.

I was gone in three months, moved into a room with rizzo41, and had a wonderful 2.5 years after that. Yay!

I don't hate Teasha. I don't even know her. But why she would get up at 7:00, put on MTV's "The Grind," go into the bathroom, get ready, come back to the room, and shut it off is beyond me.

My issues with Donald stem from his unique ability to have sex when I was trying to sleep, as well as the 3 orgies he threw while we lived in a double.
12th-Aug-2002 11:52 am (UTC)
GROSS!!!
12th-Aug-2002 01:35 pm (UTC) - Re:
Tell me about it. Of couse he started hating me when I got to write the Lambda by-laws and constitution, which at the time prevented him from taking over without a vote...
12th-Aug-2002 08:35 am (UTC)
Hmmm, is 15 a hint???
12th-Aug-2002 11:01 am (UTC) - Re:
Nah, It was more in reference to Josh than anything else, although considering the climate here, I can see why you asked.

Nice list, most insightful.

That said, do you have any grantwriting monkeys you could recommend to take over my job for a while? I'm really tired of it right about now . . .
12th-Aug-2002 10:59 am (UTC) - Re:
Hmmm, I'll trade you jobs for a day...
12th-Aug-2002 10:17 am (UTC)
Ah, gotta love 'em *lol*

scary thing is....some of them are so true.
12th-Aug-2002 10:56 am (UTC) - Re:
It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know most of 'em from personal experience.
12th-Aug-2002 08:09 pm (UTC) - Re:
Don't feel bad, I can honestly say some of those fit me as well
12th-Aug-2002 10:09 pm (UTC) - Re:
LOL glad to hear I'm not the only occasionally stupid one on here:)
12th-Aug-2002 10:56 pm (UTC) - Re:
It's not occasional stupidity, it's occasional creativity *lol*

Just remember.... it's not easy being chessy
12th-Aug-2002 11:23 pm (UTC) - Re:
ROFL

Chester Cheetah ROX!

And creativity can be ok, but the IcyHot incident is more proof that one should always read labels, even in the heat of passion.
13th-Aug-2002 06:09 am (UTC) - Re:
Personally, I've never used IcyHot before, but I can only imagie the pain.... *ouch*

Um yeah...It was like walking around after riding a horse for a few hours.
