Solar eclipses, like the one visible in India and across Southeast Asia today, have often inspired violence, fear, and superstition in the past. What do they signify to you?
For me, a sense of wonder.
The last eclipse I really remember viewing was back in 1992(?) I was in High school and it happened on my lunch break. I remember waiting outside of the East building, feeling the breeze creep across me as the sky darkened. I remember a feeling of almost primordial dread and fear crossed with this odd primeval ecstasy.
It was like tapping into Jung's Collective Unconsciousness for the course of a few minutes.... this weird feeling of being plugged in to the minds of my ancestors as they witnessed celstial events they couldn't explain.
