Reading a mystery with recipies included.
Mainly because I have to return the book tomorrow...
Preheat oven to 350, rack in middle.
1 package (18oz) cake mix (Recipe suggests lemon)
2 cups Cool whip (make sure tio measure, most tubs are 3 cups)
1 large beaten egg (in a cup)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Combine cake mix, cool whip and egg in large bowl. Stir until well mixed.
Drop by teaspoon into sugar and roll the dough.
Place cookie dough on greased pan and cook for 10 minutes at 350. Cool 2 minutes then move to wire rack to finish cooling.
Cream 1/2 cup butter
Add: 1 cup sugar
2 beaten egg yolks
1 tablespoon mil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
beat until light.
1 1/2 cups flour
1teaspoon baking powder
Adddry to firth mixture and mix well. Chill for several hours. Roll dough very thin and cut with cookie cutter to desired shape. Place on buttered baking sheet and put a blanched split almond on each cookie. Brush with unbeaten egg white and sprinkle with mixture of one tavlespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.
Back at 375 for 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
