Who is the most inspiring teacher you ever had and why? How often do you think about what they taught you? How has it changed your life?
I can think of 3 off the top of my head.
Mrs. Barnes, my 8th grade reading teacher, who hand in hand with Mrs. Thompson, my 8th grade English teacher are the ones who encouraged me to write. They also are the ones who managed to introduce me to new authors I never would have tried otherwise. Like Dean Koontz and V.C. Andrews.
The third is I believe now Dr. Rubin, who taught my English 101 in college. The man was pursuing his doctorate in both Spanish and Englishand was one of the teachers who actually made me feel like I could not only survive but thrive in an academic enviornment.
I should also add Dr. King, my History 101 prof to that list. He was attached to the Classics department, which made his class covering prehistory to the middle ages even more facinating. I loved his class. It was one of the few I showed up for on a regular basis.
